Top 10 Oilers Moments

Hello all my people! Been a long time I published a blog post missed you all. This post is all about some of my favourite Oilers moments over the years. There are some amazing plays, drafts, fights, and more! (not in a specific order)

#1 Cam Talbot and Mike Smith Fight

Every fan knows this fight. Me and my family were in Maui to listen to the Oilers game on 630 Ched. Lots of fights broke out and the announcer Reid Walkins said the was the battle of Alberta is back he was Screaming in his Microphone. Mike Smith was standing on the centerline watching all the fights go down in front of the Calgary net and then Talbot started skating towards Mike Smith and put out his fist to get ready to fight. They threw a couple of punches. Cam Talbot started the fight and Mike Smith ended the fight. He clobbered Talbot like a 100 pound Grizzly Bear. that’s what happens when you mess with Mike Smith like that. Who else remembers this crazy Edmonton vs Calgary game?!

#2 Connor McDavid’s 6th Career Hat-trick

I was in the stands at Rogers place during the Oilers against Colorado Avalanche game. Up close we saw the speed of Connor that game. McDavid is Legendary and nobody can catch up to him. He got 6 points in the Colorado vs Oilers game. It was Intense for the fans to see the captain of the city of champions score like that. Three amazing goals by Connor. The fans threw their hats on the ice and Connor McDavid was red-hot during this whole game. I was very happy to be in the stands during his 6th career hat trick. #3   Dominik Kahun Signed with Oilers for 1 year

New star Oiler alert. He is 25 years old and was born in Germany. Kahun is like a little bit of James Neal a 20 goal score player and the speed like Connor McDavid. I am hoping he can actually put up points for the Oilers to make the playoffs again.  He is also a Left Wing player to feed Leon Draisaitl for powerplay goals and help the team to be a number 1 contender team to be in the 2021 playoffs. I am excited to see Leon Draisaitl and Dominik Kahun on the same lineup. He will also be on the line with Kailer Yamamoto for the next season. He played for Buffalo Sabers, Penguins, Blackhawks in the past. He got signed with the Oilers on November 1rst of 2020.

#4 Watching Games with Friends

Me and Adam who works with me at Sagiper went to the Oilers game Against Vegas Golden Knights. The Oilers tried to win that game to earn 1st place in the standings but the Knights ended up taking the win. Andre Fleury had too much Firepower that game the Oilers didn’t have a chance to get the win. Even though we lost that game I had Adam there with me we shared laughs together. Our job that game was to get more rowdy fans going. We were crazy in the stands.

#5 My Long Lost Cousin Steve Macintyre

Growing up my Favourite player was Steve Macintyre and his number was 33. He was an enforcer and he loved to fight in bloody fights. Me and steve have the same last name and that’s why he was the best player on the Oiler’s past roster. Joking I used to tell people that he was related to me. He is retired and a former Edmonton Oiler player played for Carolina Thunderbirds, the Panthers, And Pittsburgh Penguins. He was 6 foot 5 and 250 pounds so when he used to fight it was lights out for you and goodbye and see you later.

#6 Mikko Kosinen is a Tall Man

I got to meet Kosinen at Ronald McDonald House when I was doing some work there and he was a lot bigger than me. He is 6 foot 7. We took a picture together and his head almost didn’t make it in the photo. I really like Mikko Koskinen. He is an awesome goalie because he makes monster saves. Often in net he is on his back and then he saves the puck with his arm like a bear claw. Watch this video for some of his top saves! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGAGrPpj0GM&ab_channel=NHL

#7 Tyson Barrie’s Signing

Tyson Barrie Signed for 3.75 million for 1 year on Oct 10th of 2020. He is a defenceman. I am super excited to watch him play with the Oilers! He can skate very fast and hopefully he will stop some of the shots on net this next season. We need some stronger defense so maybe he will be the answer to our problems here. I can’t wait to watch him.

#8 Crazy Goal by Zack Kassian

The goal was a Breakaway goal through John Gibson’s legs. The goal was during last season’s playoff run against the Ducks. The fans were really rowdy after his goal and it was very loud. Zack made his mean face after he shot the goal which got the fans going even more.

#9 Lucic Goal

Game 4 in the 2017 playoffs during the playoffs I made a pole of who will score the very first goal of that game. I got it right and it was Milan Lucic and Leon Draistail who passed the puck to him to score during the power play. It was one hell of a goal. That game was one of the most over the top the rowdiest game I ever been to so far in my life.

#10 Connor and Lucic Together (double trouble)

It was the best when Connor McDavid shade a line with Milan Lucic. During the press conference of the signing of Lucic he said he wants to play with Connor and also said it’s about time for the team to find the attitude to be a contender for the playoffs. He wanted to make the Oilers a harder team to play against. He considers connor’s speed one of the fastest. Milan Lucic was the big fish in the trade market and he wanted to play with Connor McDavid. He was drafted by the Oilers for 7 to 8 years. Lucic laughed after his press conference that he couldn’t wait for Connor to feed him for a couple of goals. Miss those two playing together.
