Hello everyone! This blog post is a blast from the past. Here are my top 10 favourite childhood movies. I watched all these movies so many times.
#1 Chicken Run - released in 2000
It was a very funny movie to watch because it had lots of crazy clips. One of my favourite scenes from the movie is when these 2 farm rats said “the exits are located here and here and then kiss your behind goodbye”. The exit was just open doors on the airplane and they were on the plane to escape the tweedy farm. The chickens all were trying to escape the bad guys Mr. and Mrs. Tweedy so the chickens won’t be killed by her axe. Does anyone else remember this movie? I remember it being one crazy clip after the other.
#2 The Road to El Dorado - released in 2000
My favourite characters in this movie are Miguel And Tulio. Those two crack some funny jokes and I know all those lines. I also like all of the action in this movie since they go on some cool adventures! I like it when they get to Eld Dorado and are almost sacrificed. Or the many scenes when they are getting chased are good ones too.
#3 Jumanji - released in 1995
My favourite actor in this movie was Robin Williams and his character name was Allen Parrish. He was the guy who got sucked in the board game at first. One of my favourite scenes is when he wrestled with the Crocodile. Another character that I liked was Sarah. Sarah was Allen Parrish’s best friend for a long time and then she got sucked into the game as well with him. It was a classic movie to watch. It reminds me of the great actor that Robin Williams was before he passed away. It is nostalgic to hear Robin William’s laugh and it makes me laugh every time. Another scene I liked is when the monkeys came into the house they were getting chased by raging rhinos. Loved all the crazy animal scenes. I thought the ending was well done and it was a nice happy ending. The hunter aimed his gun towards Allen wanted to shoot him but Sarah came in to protect him before he got shot.
#4 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory- released in 2005
My Favourite scene was when Veruca Salt when she got sucked into the garbage shoot because she was a bad nut who always throws a temper tantrum and gets mad when she doesn’t get what she wants. It’s funny when the Squirrels pinned her to the ground and then bonked her head to see if she was a good nut or a bad nut and they sent her down the shoot and she smelled like rotten garbage when she came up. My favourite character in this movie is Willy Wonka because I was him for Halloween when I was growing up. I liked his hat and crazy glasses. He was very funny because of the way he treated the children and talked to them. Another happy ending when Willy Wonka reunited with his dad at the very end of the movie and Charlie got to live with his family in the factory. Love a good happy ending.
#5 Wallace And Gromit The Curse of the Were-Rabbit- released 2005
My favourite character was Wallace because he was the one who transformed into the were - rabbit. He ate all of the vegetables he didn’t even realize that he was the monster in the first place. My favourite scene was with the hunter and Wallace in the woods and the hunter wanted to kill him, then the hunter said “take your paws off my future wife you big brute”. At the very ending of the movie the hunter also said “you stupid inverted mutt” and that made me laugh hard because that was a very funny line.
#6 Monster House- released 2006
My favourite character was the monster house that was alive that was also once known as Constance. She was a human once until she became the possessed house. In the movie these teenagers are trying to stop her the house from attacking people. My favourite scene was when the girl teenager said “there’s a reason to believe a person was in the house” and the police didn’t believe her. I thought the ending was great Constance’s husband came back to tell the teenage kids to kill her and she was not happy when she found out but they killed her and she was gone forever. It was a strange movie but I liked it anyway. Lots of crazy random things happened but I liked it.
#7 Shrek- released 2001
My Favourite character was Shrek. He is a funny guy because he always had a temper problem. The best Shrek line was when he said “this is the part when you run away” after he yelled at the villagers. My favourite line from donkey was “in the morning I am making waffles” and I say that line all the time cause it’s funny. My favourite scene was when Shrek rescued princess Fiona at the castle from the dragon. I also really loved the soundtrack for this movie. Songs I liked were, Smashmouth - I’m a believer, Smashmouth - all-star and The proclaimers - I’m on my way.
#8 Space Jam- released 1996
My favourite character was Michael Jordan. He was the most popular player in the history of NBA basketball he was a very good 3 point shooter player. It was fun to see him in this movie with all of the Looney tunes characters. The movie started off when he got sucked in the golf hole and ended up he was in the animated Looney tune world. There was a basketball game against the monsters team and Micheal Jordan got the win for his team name was called tune squad and he made a slam dunk. It reminds me of the great memories with Michael Jordan playing professional NBA basketball games.
#9 Bugs Life- released 1998
As a kid I watched this movie too many times. It was a battle between the ants against grasshoppers. My favourite character was Hopper and he was the bad guy in this movie and the leader of the grasshoppers and Flick’s arch-nemesis. One of my favourite lines was when the caterpillar said “hey look I am a beautiful butterfly” and he had tinny little wings. Flick the main character he messes things up and it was always funny to me. Hopper was a ruthless violent grasshopper who wanted to kill all of the ants. Flick and his tiny ant friends made a bird plane to scare of Hopper and his gang of grasshoppers.
#10 The Hunchback of Notre Dame- released 1996
My favourite character was Quasimodo. At the very ending of the movie there were lots of battles and there was lots of action going on. The bad guy was Claude Frollo and he was not my favourite character in this movie because killed Esmeralda and wanted to kill Quasimodo to have the power to rule the castle. My Favorite scene was the stone Gargoyles came alive to hit the bad guys with bricks by throwing them. I also liked this movie because it had lots of music in the movie to sing.
Bonus
Speaking about favourite movies I thought I would mention my least favourite movie when I was a kid. 101 Dalmations was not my favourite movie because of Cruella De Vil. That stupid lady that movie was not my cup of tea. I never liked her screams and she never shuts up in that movie. She freaked me out every time I watched it.
